School Lice Policies

Coral Springs schools, like all schools in Broward County, has a “no nit” lice policy. Children with head lice or nits are not allowed to stay in school. Excused Absences "Students must be in school unless the absence has been permitted or excused for one of the reasons listed below (F.S. 1003.24(4), 1003.26)….. 8. Students having, or suspected of having, a communicable disease or infestation which can be transmitted are to be excluded from school and are not allowed to return to school until they no longer present a health hazard (F.S. 1003.22).

Students in Hollywood, Florida are not permitted to enter school if they have an active case of head lice. Children with nits should remain home as the school maintains a “no nit” policy.
