School Lice Policies

Children may return to school the day following treatment after a check with the school nurse finds no live lice present.

Palm City and Stuart are both located in the Martin County School District, which does not allow children with lice to attend school until they are cleared by the school.

Schools in the Commack and Smithtown districts allow students into school once they have been checked for live lice by the school nurse.
