Schools in Dublin and Delaware school districts do not hold to a strict “no nit” head lice policy. Children are allowed to return to school once treatment has begun.

Each school district usually sets the head lice policy for the schools in their area, and yet it is always a good idea to check with your child’s health services department for clear guidelines on how they deal with head lice. The following has been found for schools in the West Chester area.

Burke, Annandale and Springfield are all in the Fairfax County Public School District which allows students to return to school once treatment has been administered.

Boynton Beach and Delray Beach are in the Palm Beach County School District and, therefore, stick to a strict “no nit” policy for head lice in the school.

Schools in Akron and Cuyahoga still retain “no nit” policies with regard to head lice. For your convenience we have found these school policy resources in your area.

Schools in Plainedge and West Islip no longer have “no nit lice policies, while schools in West Babylon will send students home if they have nits in their hair. Each district chooses its own head lice policy.
