Needham Schools This school system has a “no nit” policy and students with eggs or bugs will be sent home. “Head Lice (Pediculosis) Students will be excluded from school until after treatment and removal of nits from the hair. LYNN PUBLIC SCHOOLS HEAD LICE POLICY Lynn schools allow students to remain in school even if they have nits. “The Lynn Public Schools has revised its head lice policy to conform to the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the National Association of School Nurses (NASN), the American School Health Association (ASHA), and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

The “no nit” lice policy was reinstated in 2014 after a brief hiatus in which the county attempted to allow children with nits to attend school, but this was met with resistance from parents. “County schools reversed a decision to allow students with head lice to remain in school. Outraged parents and teachers flooded the school district with emails, calls and letters after the decision.

Coral Springs schools, like all schools in Broward County, has a “no nit” lice policy. Children with head lice or nits are not allowed to stay in school.
