School Lice Policies

Nearby schools can have very different policies regarding head lice, even when they are geographically very close.

Schools in Homestead and the surrounding communities are all part of the Miami-Dade district and adhere to a “no nit” policy. Children are excluded from attendance as long as there are any nits or eggs present.

Coral Gables And Kendall schools are within the Miami-Dade County School District and, therefore, adhere to a strict “no nit” policy regarding head lice. Students are barred from attendance until no nits are present on the child’s head.
