Getting rid of head lice does not have to be a nightmare if you call in an expert!

So there you are....minding your own business....going about your day like any other day and then the phone rings.

It's a call from the school telling you that lice was found in your child's hair!  Naturally, you're going to do everything possible to rid your child and your home of these parasites.  You are also going to be concerned that what you do to get rid of these pests isn't going to be enough and they are going to return.  After all, you're not sure where they came from to begin with!

Removing the live lice isn't too hard even though they can be difficult to see. Removing the nits (the little lice eggs) is a whole other story.  The little lice eggs are left behind by the live female louse and each female can lay as many as eight-ten eggs per day.  Nits (lice eggs) have to removed individually and they are very small and hard to see.  The live lice themselves are hard to see because they are only about the size of a sesame seed.  So it's easy to imagine how tiny the eggs must be. To add insult to injury, nits are glued to the hair shaft by a cement-like substance excreted by the female louse when she lays her eggs.  This cement-like substance she uses makes removing nits extremely difficult.  For those with thick hair the process of removing the nits can be painful, pulling on hair and hurting the person who has to suffer through this process.
