School Lice Policies

Schools in Rowlett and Rockwall no longer hold to strict “no nit” policies. Instead they are in alignment with recommendations from the CDC and National Association of School Nurses as they have adopted “no live lice” policies.

Schools in Oak Ridge, Karns and Powell do not enforce strict head lice policies.

The Lakewood School District still adheres to a “no nit” policy, while Parkland schools adhere to a more lenient policy that allows children to return to school once treatment has begun.
