School Lice Policies

Some schools in Riverside County have a “no nit” policy, which prevents children from entering school until there is no sign of lice or eggs. Other school districts, such as Temecula and Murrieta, leave it to the discretion of the nurse and allow children into the classroom as long as they are free of bugs.

In general, schools in this area do not strictly adhere to a no-nit policy, and will allow students to return to the classroom once treatment has begun.

Schools in Port St. Lucie have a "no nit" policy, which means that if a child has lice eggs he or she will be sent home from school.
