Nobody likes head lice. In fact, most people have a visceral reaction to lice. That’s where we come in.
Head Lice have a Big Yuck Factor
We get it. A lot of people think that head lice are gross. We know that it is particularly disturbing to think that these little suckers are feeding and crawling on your child’s head. The good news is that we know exactly how to get rid of them. The second piece of good news is that while lice are admittedly yucky, they do not carry disease; basically they are a nuisance.
Lice Still Carry a Stigma (Although it is Lessening)
You may be worried about the stigma associated with head lice. True that they are very contagious, no one wants them, and your child may end up in the “do not play with her” list, for a short time. Here’s the thing: head lice are so prevalent today, that chances are many of your child’s friends have already had it. It is becoming more understood that nits (lice eggs) are not contagious, just the live bugs are, and also that having head lice does not suggest poor hygiene. In fact, head lice are just part of today’s social landscape.
What We Have Seen and Where We Come In
LiceDoctors has seen it all when it comes to head lice. We have been out in the field treating head lice for over 20 years. We have seen first hand the growing resistance that lice have to chemical treatments. We have seen schools drop their “no nit” lice policies, thereby permitting children with lice eggs to remain in school (potentially increasing the risk of transmission if the eggs should hatch). We remain as committed as ever to our mission of eliminating head lice in every case we tackle. LiceDoctors physically removes all lice from the hair and leaves you with a basic follow-up plan to ensure that you stay lice-free. We do the hard work so that you don’t have to and so that it’s done right!
