LiceDoctors Technician, Corrie, describes what she does before and after arriving at your home to help your family say goodbye to head lice. Every technician will have their own variation but basically technicians are professionals and want to help you in the fastest, yet most thorough, and comfortable way. Here are Corrie’s words:

As a Lice Technician, I take my job very seriously. I know when I arrive at a job that the parents and children may be upset, scared, frustrated and just a bit freaked out. It is my goal to leave every family not only free of lice but happy, calm, educated, and relieved.

I take your privacy very seriously and arrive in a non-branded, unmarked car.

I don’t advertise to the neighborhood that the LiceDoctors have arrived at your house. I usually call my clients ahead of time to introduce myself, get any additional information I need, and ask where to park and what door to enter. I want my clients to feel comfortable before I even arrive at the house. When I arrive I’ll introduce myself to everyone and we will find the best place to set up. I bring my own plastic coverings to make sure the area is protected and stays clean.

As I begin the treatment I talk to the clients and find out when you first noticed the lice and what you have done so far to treat it. I share a FAQ handout we have and answer any questions you have about lice. I show you all the tools and techniques we use so that if you have another lice breakout in the future you know exactly how to handle it yourself. Education and understanding lice make all the difference in how people feel about them. I have gone to many homes where the parents or children were already upset when I arrived, or began crying when they told me all the things they had done so far that haven’t worked. I leave those homes with everyone smiling and I get hugs or high fives on the way out.

As a technician for LiceDoctors, my job is more than just eradicating lice. It is creating a bond with a family in a short period of time, educating everyone, and leaving everyone happy and lice-free. I take pride in my work and get a sense of satisfaction when I leave each and every job with a satisfied, educated, and confident client.
