Anaheim School District

The district does not have a “no nit” policy which means if a child is found to have nits (eggs)non the hair, he or she may remain in school. The child’s parents will be notified so the child can be treated. The policy is as follows:

“To prevent the spread of head lice infestations, school employees shall report all suspected cases of head lice to the school nurse or designee as soon as possible. The nurse or designee shall examine the student and if lice are found, the parents/guardians shall be informed about the recommended treatment procedures and given sources for additional information. Staff shall maintain the privacy of students identified as having head lice. Students may be re-checked by the school nurse or designee within 7-10 days to ensure that all lice have been removed.” Source: Anaheim Union HSD
