Lice Treatment Client Testimonials
“I just read an article last month about selfies and lice. I thought it was a bunch of rubbish but I have to fess up, I think that’s how my daughter got it. She’s 14 and is always head to head with her friends, especially in those selfie pictures. LiceDoctors came over and did a great job- took all those eggs and bugs out of her hair. She checked me too- I got lucky and didn’t have any. Anyway, give them a call. They are very professional and promised they would keep our information confidential.”

“My kids go to a private school and the tuition is astronomical. I didn’t think that for all the money I’m paying they should come home with lice. But over Thanksgiving they did. I called the school, quite annoyed but they explained to me that one kid had it and passed it around to all of her friends. They said to call LiceDoctors so I did. Liz, our tech, was very kind. She did a very thorough job and gave us the treatment plan to follow. It turns out that my daughter was “the kid” who had it and passed it around. She got it from her cousin 3 weeks before. Lice can happen to anyone…even me!”

“I don’t like writing reviews but I have to give kudos to LiceDoctors. I had 2 techs come over because I have 6 of my own kids and 3 others were staying with me over the weekend. I wanted to have everyone checked. Amanda and Isabel, sisters who both are LiceDoctors, came and cleaned out everyone’s hair. 4 of mine had it and 1 of the other children. Anyway, everyone is lice free and I was extremely satisfied with their service. I give them 5 stars.”

“I live alone with my dog. I thought my dog had lice but I found out that lice need human blood to survive..not dog blood. In other words, dogs don’t get lice. Good to know but I had it. Caught it from my grandson. My daughter told me to call LiceDoctors and she would pay, so I did. A lovely gal came over and gave me the treatment plan. I only had a few nits due to the fact that I caught it early. I was very happy with their service. They know what they’re doing which is all I cared about. Call them first if you have lice.”

Do I Really Need to Treat My Child or Will Lice Eventually Go Away Without Treatment?
You may be tempted to treat your child’s head lice on your own. You see the head lice, you panic and you run out to the drugstore. There you look at brand names, natural products, and other lice-related products… What to choose? You grab a shampoo, rush home and apply the shampoo following all the directions. Phew…Your child is lice and nit-free. Correct? Actually what is that bug that just crawled out of the hair? And what are those things that are still stuck to the hair follicles? OH NO!
This scenario is very common. In fact, we receive a lot of calls from frustrated parents all over the Madison area, who have used commercial lice remedies unsuccessfully. The prescription pediculicides are also not always effective as you have to pick out all of the nits (eggs). Since the nits camouflage in the hair, they are difficult to find unless you know exactly what you are looking for and have the right tools. Lice are very hearty creatures and they have mutated and become resistant to chemical products.
You may start to wonder do I really need to get rid of these lice will or will they eventually go away by themselves? That is the question that we were asked today by Nancy, a mom in Madison, Wisconsin. After parents attempt to eradicate lice only to have their efforts thwarted, they become very frustrated and some start to wonder if they really need to keep treating the lice.
The answer is “yes” you do have to treat head lice as they will not go away by themselves. In fact, what happens is that each bug can lay up to 10 eggs a day. As those eggs mature for about 10 days they then become ready and able to hatch and baby bugs come out. Those baby bugs, called nymphs, mature and in about a week to 10 days, they begin to lay eggs. You can see how a case can spiral out of control and within a few weeks there maybe hundreds or even thousands of eggs in the hair.
