Your local Washington D.C. head lice treatment and removal service!
We understand how frustrating it can be to try to treat head lice on your own. Lice have mutated and have become resistant to chemical lice treatments. In order to put an end to a lice infestation, every nit (lice egg) must be removed from the hair. If nits are left behind with no follow-up, they will hatch and the case will start up again.
LiceDoctors offers all-natural, in-the-home services guaranteed to work! We are the only lice treatment service in D.C. with a medical doctor on staff–Dr. Stephen Beck. LiceDoctors technicians have eliminated head lice in over 250,000 children and adults. A technician will come to you with the tools and expertise to get rid of your lice infestation. She will be able to find, identify, and remove camouflaged nits (lice eggs) and she will stop live bugs in their tracks and extract them from the hair. You will feel comforted the minute she walks in the door. And your treatment comes with a full 30 day guarantee. We will help you whenever you need us–day or night, 365 days a year. That’s a guarantee!

Can You Get Lice On D.C Bus or Subway?
As people in the district commute to and from work each day, we have been asked if it is possible to pick up lice on the metro or a bus. The answer is yes, but the likelihood is low. It is possible for a louse to crawl off of someone’s head and onto the seat but usually the bug will not leave someone’s head unless there is another head available to crawl onto. The reason is that lice go where there is food i.e. human blood. Since a seat on the metro offers nothing for lice, the bug is not tempted to go there.
If a bug does end up on a seat or any inanimate object, it can survive there for up to a day and in that case will try to find a human host, but again that is an atypical scenario. In the vast majority of cases, head lice are transmitted via head to head contact. If you are sitting or standing in close proximity to another commuter, then a bug may have direct access to your hair. If you are close enough that bug can crawl from one person’s hair to another. LiceDoctors recommends that if you are a commuter in DC and you want to be extra vigilant in trying to prevent a case of head lice, you can spray your hair or apply gel or mousse. This will provide you with a layer of protection in case there happens to be a hungry louse hanging around a seat looking for a new host.
Lice Removal Washington D.C. – Other Success Stories

“Between my wife and me, we missed 5 days of working trying to get rid of the head lice infestation that had invaded our kids’ heads. When we were at our wit’s end, we found you on-line. You were so professional and knowledgeable on the phone that I knew we were in good hands. I was right. I wish we had known of you sooner but am glad we found you when we did.” Aaron L in Washington DC
“While we were at the pediatrician’s office for a check-up, he noticed that my daughter was scratching her head. (How did I miss this?). He examined her head, told me she had head lice, and immediately directed us to LiceDoctors. He said that you have a better track record than the products that are sold at drug stores or by prescription. Two hours later, Dianne was at my house and busy removing all the eggs from my daughter and me (ugh). Anyway, the whole process was painless and it worked. Thanks so much to LiceDoctors and Dianne for helping us in our time of need!” Sonya G. in D.C.
