Mom of Five Says LiceDoctors was a Blessing
“Thank you, LiceDoctors. Finding you was a blessing. I have my hands full on an average day with 5 children but when I discovered that 3 of them had lice, I knew I needed help. You were amazing and I know I could not have done this without your expertise. My family and I are very grateful.” – Marcia B. in Provo, Utah
Medical Doctor On-Staff and Top Notch Service
“My two kids have a million activities over the course of the week and we did not have time to deal with head lice. Apparently the lice had a different idea about that! I did my due diligence online and learned about LiceDoctors. I was impressed with their website and the fact that there’s a medical doctor on staff so I gave them a call. Tasha was patient with me, answer my questions, and dispatched a top notch technician to my home. She was wonderful with my kids and the treatment worked as promised!” – Amanda D. in Spanish Fork, Utah
Family Doctor Recommends LiceDoctors
“My daughter has sensory integration issues, so I was very overwhelmed when she got head lice. She did not cooperate with me at all when I was trying to comb through her hair and we were both in tears. Our family doctor suggested that I call LiceDoctors. I made the call and explained our challenge and Whitney assured me that the tech could handle the situation. A lovely tech named Melissa came to my home and was so gentle with my daughter. They actually became friends and my daughter chatted with Melissa throughout the process. Best of all, Melissa eradicated all of the eggs and lice!” – Kristin M. in Ogden, Utah
Very Satisfied Clients
“Your technician Stacy inspired confidence in my family the minute she walked through the door. She set up her treatment area while educating us about head lice and then started working her magic on our heads. She never stopped working for a minute and she knew exactly what she was doing. When she finished she spent another few minutes going over what we can do to prevent a recurrence in the future. She was great and you have very satisfied clients!” – Jennifer K. in Salt Lake City, Utah
School Nurse Recommends LiceDoctors
“I had just come back from yoga and was very relaxed when I got the jarring phone call from the school nurse. It took all of the Zen I could muster to stay calm as I drove to retrieve my kids from school. Luckily for us the nurse gave me a great tip as I just retrieved my kids. She advised me to call you at LiceDoctors telling me that it was the surest way of getting rid of the lice quickly. We were very impressed with your responsiveness and the quality of the service that we received. We are all clear of lice, the kids are back in school, and I’m off to yoga!” – Lisa S. in Park City, Utah
How Do You Get Rid of Multiple Lice Cases in the Class? Bring in the Professionals!
Basically, Salt Lake City area schools have a fairly lenient policies regarding admission to schools for children with head lice or nits. This is in accordance with the American Academy of Pediatrics and the National Association of School Nurses, who recommend that healthy children with nits (lice eggs) be allowed to attend school and that they should be treated at home. Children with active lice (bugs) are usually expected to remain at home until all lice are out of the hair.
While many school districts around Salt Lake no longer have class-wide head checks from the school nurse, it sometimes is obvious that a case is going around the classroom. The Utah Department of Health recommends that the school (or day care) notify the parent/guardian of each child in the classroom (or day care program) that their child has been exposed to a person with a head lice infestation.
When multiple children have lice, parents generally talk. They may share tips on lice removal products and services. LiceDoctors is often called into classrooms, particularly in preschools, private schools, and day care centers, to treat children at one time. Why is that a good idea? When you have young children in close contact with each other, that provides a breeding ground for head lice and their transmission from child to child. Head lice transference is rampant in preschool and daycare centers because children are sitting and playing right next to each other. Imagine a preschool classroom as opposed to a fourth-grade where kids are sitting at desks spaced apart. Which is the more likely setting for head lice to move from head-to-head, the primary way that head lice infestations are passed around?
Having a lice professional, like LiceDoctors, at the source of head lice transmissions is the most direct way to put an end to head lice in the classroom. Spraying the classroom is a no-no as those sprays are ineffective and potentially toxic. Separating coats and backpacks is like batting at windmills. The lice live on the head, not on these objects. If one child comes back to school free of lice and another one still has it, then the first child is at risk for picking it up again from the infested child if that second continues to have it for a long time.
If there are multiple lice cases in your child’s class, have LiceDoctors come in and check the class and we can eradicate the problem at the source. No more worries about lice making a continual circuit through the class. For the most experience lice service, call us today at 801-477-4730!
