Lice Treatment Client Testimonials
“I have been phobic of bugs my whole life. As a child, I didn’t like visiting my grandparents’ home in the country because there were so many bugs outside. When I first felt itchy, I immediately went into denial mode. I thought it must be mosquito bites. Then I saw my kids scratching their heads and I realized that we likely had lice. I was so freaked out that I could not even look in their heads; I screamed for my husband. He saw bugs, and called our pediatrician who referred us to LiceDoctors. Your tech came and step-by-step eliminated the bugs and their horrible eggs. When I say you saved me, that is not giving you enough credit! Thank you.”

“I just want to let you know that your tech, Carol, did a wonderful job. She was professional all the way…an excellent representative of your business. No more lice or nits!”
Tricia in Scotch Plains, NJ
“I had the whole family coming to my house Saturday night to celebrate my dad’s 70th birthday when I discovered lice in my kids’ heads. I found the lice Friday night and I was already running around like a crazy person trying to get ready for the party. I did not know whether to call and cancel but my dad was so excited that I did not want to disappoint him. I called LiceDoctors and explained the situation to you and you assured me that the lice in the house would be dead before the party and that you could get somebody to my home within an hour of my call. Your wonderful technician, Kim, who is our angel came and performed her magic. We were all lice free and the party was terrific. By the way it has been a month and nobody from the party got head lice and we are all clear.”
Sandy T. in Summit, New Jersey
“I did not even know that a service like yours existed, but I wish I did before I wasted hundreds of dollars on junk that did not work. In desperation I googled lice removal and alas your website came up. It felt like a miracle to me when I saw the site and I called and spoke to Natasha who was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. She dispatched Kelly to our home and finally we have no more lice in our hair. Kelly was terrific and the follow-up plan was painless. I have told all of my friends about you so they don’t have to suffer the way we did!”
Lara W. in Westfield, NJ
“We don’t have a lot of extra money so I was reluctant to try a professional lice removal service. After talking to my friend who had gone another route before using you guys I realized this would be the most cost-effective way to go. I didn’t have to waste money on treatments that don’t kill lice or eggs and I didn’t have to miss days of work that I would not have been paid for. Your tech came and two hours later we were done. I am so glad we chose LiceDoctors!”
Julie F. in Warren, New Jersey
“Thanks to everyone at LiceDoctors for doing a first rate job. Your protocol makes sense, the technician was excellent, and we really appreciated the convenience of being treated in our home. Kudos to all.”

What Do I Do When My Child’s Friends Have Head Lice?
Sandy H. from Scotch Plains, New Jersey called us last Saturday in a bit of a panic. She had hosted 5 of her daughter’s best friends for a slumber party the night before, only to note that at breakfast a couple of the girls were scratching their heads. Being a vigilant mom, Sandy looked in both of the girls’ heads. Much to her dismay she saw a bug in one head and what she thought were lice eggs in the other girl’s head. She felt responsible for what looked like a debacle.
Slumber parties cause headaches for parents. As if it isn’t enough that parents are often more sleep deprived than kids on the nights of the parties, there is now the added worry of head lice transmission. “What am I supposed to do?” asked Sandy. “I dread calling the other girls’ parents to relay that news to them. I feel totally responsible for contributing to what could be a lice infestation in the grade.”
This is an all too common incident. With head lice as commonplace as they are, and slumber parties a part of our social culture, it is possible that children will find themselves exposed to lice through these parties. We reassured Sandy that this is not her fault. First of all the two girls who were scratching, particularly the one who had visible nits in her hair, likely have had the case for at least a couple of weeks. Second, regardless of how the girls got the head lice, it is in everyone’s best interest for Sandy to alert the other parents that their daughters were exposed to lice. The reason for this is that they all need to be checked and if they have an active infestation they must be properly treated; the earlier you catch it the easier it is to take care of the problem. If those girls continue to be in close contact on social dates or in school, they will continue to pass the lice around.
When you call the parents tell them that the best way to check and see if their children have picked up a case of lice is to put them under a bright light. Then look closely and see if you see translucent eggs stuck to the hair. It is unlikely that they will see a bug scoot around the hair but it is not impossible. When in doubt, they can call us at LiceDoctors and we will come and check their children. If they do fine lice in the head then we suggest that they give us a call. As professionals, we know exactly what to look for in the hair and we know how to get rid of it. It’s camouflaged in the hair and the head lice often scoot from the light so if you are not trained with a lot of experience, this may be a daunting task. It is often more cost-efficient and time-effective to have a professional take care of lice treatment.
You can also advise them to take the following precautions to prevent another re-infestation:
- Girls should always wear their hair pulled up in a bun at a slumber party to make the hair less accessible to lice.
- Cover the hair with some kind of lice repellent such as LiceDoctors Mint Lice Repellent spray.
- Have your child bring her own towel and pillow.
- Encourage your child not to sleep with her head next another child.
Before and after the party bring your child into bright light and do a check of the hair to be sure that the child is not carrying nits in the hair. If you find lice, give LiceDoctors a call at 908-574-0196. We will help you today!
