Detroit Climate no Problem For Lice
Parents in northern weather climates such as the Detroit and Ann Arbor Michigan areas often ask if lice die in the cold weather. The answer is no. What head lice need to survive are strands of hair (any length even buzz cut) and access to blood in the head, which is their food source. Head lice are incredibly hearty which is why they have been around for thousands of years.
If a head louse crawls off the head and does not have access to human blood, it will die within 24-36 hours. Extreme cold or heat will speed up the process of killing lice. While the vast majority of head lice cases are transmitted through head to head contact, lice can also be transferred to others through objects such as coats and hats, which are obviously utilized in winter months.

Lice Treatment Client Testimonials
“My daughter caught lice so I went to the Doctor to see what I should do. After the examination I was instructed to buy a over the counter product. After three times as well as hours of frustration I was still where I started. Next visit to the Doctor I was told about the LiceDoctors and decided to give them a try. I only wish I was told about this service at the beginning of this mess. They came right out and took care of my family and our problem is gone .Thanks to everyone for your help; my daughter will be back in school tomorrow.” – Steven C. in Dearborn Heights, MI, Yelp, 5 stars
“My child contracted lice at school and brought it home to me. I was uneducated on how to handle the situation because the school has old and improper information. I called this company (LiceDoctors) and a woman came to our home, educated me and helped me get rid of this horrible parasite living on our scalps! I honestly think Elaine dropped out of heaven !!!!!!! This company rocks!!!!! Thank you!” – Donna B.in Clawson, Michigan, Yelp, 5 stars
“Dianne was terrific. You guys saved us from absolute panic. As soon as I saw those lice, I ran to the drug store and wasted my money on one of the chemical shampoos. I couldn’t believe my eyes–the bugs were literally moving around after I washed it out. I did not know that lice have become resistant to those products. As soon as I found you on the Internet and spoke to Wendy, I knew I was in the hands of experts. Thank you so much for doing such a professional job.” – Betsy L in Bloomfield Hills, MI
“Lucky for us that our school nurse suggested that we call LiceDoctors. As a single parent with 3 kids and a full-time job, I knew I needed help. The technician arrived promptly and went to work pulling the nits out of our hair, all the while educating us about what she was doing . She was kind and very reassuring to all of us. I am happy to say that she did an excellent job and voila no more lice.” – Jeanine P. in Sterling Heights, Michigan
“OMG, when my son kept scratching his head I knew we were in trouble. I had been dreading this. I HATE bugs and I am a near freak so there was no way I was going to be able to pick out those gross things myself. LiceDoctors totally saved the day. It was so worth the money and recommend them to anyone whether you hate bugs or not.” – Stacey K. in Livonia, Michigan
“I work for a pediatricians’ office and LiceDoctors has made our lives a lot easier. The doctors used to recommend lice shampoos but these products really weren’t doing the job of getting rid of the lice. One of our office colleagues used LiceDoctors when her kids had lice and raved about how great you are. Now we tell our patients and we hear only good things about you. Thanks for doing what you do.” – Dana L. in Farmington Hills, Michigan
