Lice Treatment Client Testimonials
Embarrassed Teen Wants Privacy Of In-Home Visit
“My 15-year-old daughter was horrified to find out she had head lice. She absolutely refused to go to any salon and we were lucky that our doctor recommended LiceDoctors and that you came to us so we could maintain privacy. Jen was terrific and my daughter loved her. My daughter was able to go to school the next day and the lice did not return. Thank you.” – Alex L. in Lexington, Kentucky
Lice Attend Yoga Class
“You can’t make this stuff up. I was sitting in my yoga class and at the end we do a sitting meditation. I was totally mellowed out in a Zen state when I saw a louse crawling down my arm. I went from 0 to 100+ in anxiety In two seconds. My fellow yogis is looked at me as I was flapping around and I had to tell everybody what I saw. Well that was the cause of a big laugh at my expense. Fortunately one of my yoga sisters had gone through this with her family and told me to call LiceDoctors. I knew I could count on her advice and she did not let me down. LiceDoctors was responsive, so knowledgeable, and possessed the know-how to calm me down…better than even meditation! I recommend them to anyone who has lice!” – Patricia G., Paris, Kentucky
LiceDoctors Helps Family Who Had Battled Lice for Five Months
“Bless you, LiceDoctors. You came to us when my family was at a low point. We had tried everything the doctor recommended and everything the pharmacist recommended and nothing was working. This had gone on for five months and I had nothing I had not done. I literally did not know where to turn when by pure luck I overheard two women in the store talking about their children’s head lice and the company that they went to: LiceDoctors. I immediately went home and looked you up and called you. I had never even heard of a professional lice removal service. Your phone person was so welcoming and knowledgeable and assured me that she would have a technician out to us within the hour. Leanne was kind and super-competent and got us cleaned up very quickly without the use of chemicals, which made me very happy as I had already foolishly put way too many chemicals on my kids heads. Don’t wait as long as we did. Call LiceDoctors today.” – Jeannette P. in Frankfurt, KY
Chemicals Did Not Work, LiceDoctors Did!
“I don’t know what we would’ve done without LiceDoctors! When the school nurse told me that both of my kids had lice I went out and bought RID. I followed up the shampoo with what I thought was exhaustive combing but sure enough they were back the next day… even two live ones plus a bunch of nits. I saw the writing on the wall and knew that this was going to be a task that I would not be able to master. At that point I called my pediatrician who advised me to call LiceDoctors. Your technician did an excellent job and showed me what to do for after she left and how to help prevent lice again. We loved her, although, no offense, I will be happy not to see her again! :). Thanks for everything. You are the best!” – Ilene Y. in Winchester, Kentucky
LiceDoctors Tells You When You Don’t Have Lice
“We came back from a cruise with itchy heads. I didn’t know what to look for but I felt sure we had lice. I called LiceDoctors, they sent over a tech right away, and alas there were no lice in the hair. We only had dry scalp for sun burn. We were so grateful for the quick turnaround in getting the tech and mostly for the honesty of the tech who could have capitalized on our ignorance but was sweet and had integrity. We are fans!” – Jason H. in Richmond, Kentucky
LiceDoctors Strongly Urges Parents NOT To Use Pesticides to Kill Lice In the House
Judy A, a mom from Lexington, Kentucky called us to come and treat her family. She wanted to know at what point should she begin to spray the house. Our answer was an unequivocal “NEVER”! She was surprised to hear that as her sister in Houston had been advised to spray her house by a company there. Run for the hills if you get that advice!
Spraying the home is bad advice for two major reasons: 1) it is unnecessary as the lice will die within a day or so when away from the human head which is their food source 2) chemical spray treatments may be toxic. The United States Centers for Disease Control issued the following statement: “Do not use fumigant sprays or fogs; they are not necessary to control head lice and can be toxic if inhaled or absorbed through the skin.” – http://www.cdc.gov/parasites/lice/head/prevent.html
The National Pediculosis Association (NPA), an advocacy group in Newton, Massachusetts, states definitively on its site, “Don’t use lice sprays. Parents want to take immediate action for the lice problems their children bring home. Unfortunately, many often perceive their homes to have lice rather than the children. The truth of the matter is that the majority of head lice transmissions occur through person-to-person contact. Spraying the environment or hiring extermination services for head lice eradication is unwarranted, and can pose potential health threats.”
The site goes on to quote Steven Blum, President of Acme Pest Control Company and Director of the National Pest Control Association, who says that they receive calls from people who request spray treatments to eradicate lice in the home. He says, “There is no scientific justification to spray for head lice at home or in the school environment. It is our job as pest control professionals to distinguish between the risks and benefits of certain insects versus certain pesticide applications. Head lice do not qualify for pesticide extermination measures.” – http://www.headlice.org/faq/treatments/spray.htm
The NPA further recommends that schools not spray lockers and that parents should focus lice eradication energy on lice and nit removal from the head rather than in the home. If you find that a family member has head lice, call LiceDoctors in the Lexington area at (859) 721-1889. We will get rid of lice and nits on the head, where it matters, we will then give you a simple follow-up plan so that if any bugs linger in the home for a day or so post-treatment, you will be fully protected. We guarantee it!
