Lice Treatment Client Testimonials from Oakland and the East Bay Area
Technician Friendly, Professional, and Rolled with Family’s Pre-Dinner Party Chaos
“LiceDoctors came through for our family in a big way. We realized we had lice on a Sunday afternoon and did not want to wait until Monday to deal with this dire situation. LiceDoctors sent someone as quickly as they could. It was an awkward situation b/c we were expecting guests for dinner. The young woman from LiceDoctors set us up and got to work. She was friendly, funny, professional, and rolled with the chaos going on in our home (20 guests arriving, me needing to be deliced quickly so I could serve dinner to my guests, then moving on to my 2 kids). We were extremely appreciative.” – Nina F. in Hayward, California, Google Plus, 5 stars
LiceDoctors’ Tech Gets Rid of All Lice and Nits
“Kelly, the LiceDoctors tech, was absolutely fantastic! She did a very thorough job checking our family for lice and treating us. I’m no expert but she must be an excellent nitpicker as I had been trying in vain to get rid of the lice for weeks, and she did it in 3 hours. One month later and still no signs of bugs or eggs. Also her tips on how to prevent lice make me feel less vulnerable going forward. I highly recommend LiceDoctors.” – Tracy W. in Walnut Creek, CA
LiceDoctors Helps Do-It-Yourself Mom
“My two daughters ended up with lice at the same time. I don’t know who got it first. I figured I would treat this myself so I went online and learned what I could about lice. My younger daughter has brown hair and I could not see the eggs very well so I just kept combing and combing. Every few days more would show up and then I would notice more bugs. My older daughter has blonde hair and I thought I had a better handle on her problem because I could more easily see the eggs. After awhile it became clear to me that we were losing this battle so at my husband’s urging, we called LiceDoctors. His boss had used you successfully for his kids. Turns out that both of my kids had several eggs in the hair. I am so impressed that our tech did an expert job and allowed us to finally be rid of the lice that I would like to get brochures from you to bring into the school nurse. Thank you so much.” – Zoe M. in Oakland, California
LiceDoctors Responsive, Professional, and Organized
“LiceDoctor’s were responsive and very professional and organized. They were able to get my sons to sit still while treating which we could not do. The technician, Sarah, educated us about lice and gave us easy follow-up directions. The whole treatment took 2 1/2 hours for 4 of us. It was definitely worth the cost …we haven’t seen lice since.” – David Z. in Berkeley, California
Do Kids Get Head Lice at School?
Whether your kids are in school in Berkeley, San Leandro, Oakland, Vallejo or Lafayette or any school district in the East Bay, they are at risk for getting head lice. Is every child in school at equal risk? The answer is no one is immune but some kids are at greater risk of getting lice at school. Younger children are at higher risk of contracting lice than children in upper elementary school through high school. Why is that?
Younger children, especially those in preschool and kindergarten, engage in group activities where they are sitting and playing together in close contact. Since head lice infestations are transferred when lice travel from one head to another, the children who are physically close are most likely to pick up a case.
Older students are more likely to sit at their own desks that are organized in rows. In other words, they are not in head-to-head contact range. It is unlikely that a louse would climb off of a head, crawl across a desk down to the floor and across and up to a neighbor’s desk and then make it up to the student’s head. That is a long journey and lice do not like to leave a head which is warm and provides the bugs with their food, in the form of human blood. In over 95% of cases, lice travel directly from one head to another when heads are close together.
In terms of school districts, no individual district is more susceptible to head lice outbreaks. Hygiene is certainly not a factor, nor is socioeconomic strata. Head lice are equal opportunity nuisances. If a student has any amount of hair, even a buzz cut, he is a candidate for head lice. It is true that students with longer hair are more prone to head lice because it is easier for lice to access the hair and use it to climb up to the scalp where once there they will feed on the blood three times a day.
If you find that your child has head lice, it is best to let the school know so that other children can be checked. It is also a good idea to alert your child’s friends so that they too can be checked. This also lessens the chance that your child will become re-infested by a classmate who may unknowingly have an active case. For quick responsive, professional lice treatment service, call LiceDoctors in the East Bay today at (510) 269-8043. We will come to your home and check and treat all so that your children can return to school the next day without worries of passing along lice to classmates. Our pricing is among the lowest in the industry and often ends up being less costly for parents then spending money on chemical treatments which due to increasing resistance is often no longer effective in lice treatment. LiceDoctors is available day and night, 7 days a week, all year round.
